New employee candidates need not compete for initial employment positions on the basis of work experience. We will hire you for your inherent strengths, as demonstrated by consistent behaviour in your past endeavours. We will then provide you with the requisite means and support to grow your knowledge and skill over time so that you can contribute substantially to our company.
For current employees who desire to progress in career position and level, you need not compete with outside candidates for open positions that enable you to progress. You must have grown in your knowledge, skill and your contribution to our company so that your career aspirations and capabilities match what the company makes available.
Career progression may involve transfers between positions or levels (or both). Progression is based on merit. According to company policy, all employees must create, discuss and share career objectives with their managers annually and together create a work plan that enables them to perform and produce results to meet career objectives within agreed timeframes. It is therefore possible for newer people to progress faster and to higher levels than more seasoned people if they perform to necessary levels and produce results agreed upon as a basis for advancement.
